Today would have been my dad's 58th birthday! Happy birthday Dad! Anyway, funny story, well in some twisted way I think it's funny...
My neighbor's son just pulled in our driveway with his large brown truck and his large brown dog. He was here three days ago, and his truck was in perfect condition. TODAY, it looks horrible. There isn't a part of the truck that appears to be fine. For those of you who know the "Truchler", this thing is worse. Really, it looks like he drove through a blender. My first question was, "Is this man OK?" So I asked him if he was OK, and he told me the story. He was fine, apparently he was not in the car. Apparently no one was even driving the car. He lives in the Santa Cruz mountains and he has a long steep driveway that goes all the way down the hill and ends in sharp turn where there is a cliff that drops about 100 feet down. He parked at the top of the hill, put the car in gear, and put on the emergency brake. Apparently, the emergency brake wasn't working, the car slipped out of gear, and all they could do was watch as their car went summersaulting down this hill stopping two feet from the cliff. What followed was a long debate about whether or not to just push it over the edge so that they didn't have to try and haul it out of there, but apparently it was decided that the city of Santa Cruz would have a problem with all of the toxic car chemicals draining into the creek, and would probably charge them to have the car hauled back up again, so they figured out something else. Too bad they didn't have a camera rolling, it would have made a nice clip for Ferris Bueller part III. Ferris Buller? This is funny, look up Ferris Bueller/Buller/Beuller on google. Even the fan club has no idea how to spell it!
